Chazito's Latin Cuisine | Our Story
Taste my culture
We're a family business, and we started in a tent on River Street in Savannah on September 20, 2012. Here's how that tent turned into two trucks and a spot in Pooler.

Family reunions
Our big Puerto Rican family got together a lot, and it was always loud, always fun and always built around the food. Everybody cooked and told stories, whatever their age, and that's where the cooking bug bit me.

The tent
We opened on River Street in a tent. The menu was pinchos, empanadas and plantains.
The Frito-Lay truck
My grandfather Domingo and I bought an old Frito-Lay potato chip truck and rebuilt it in my driveway. It took about six months, and I worked afternoons at Gulfstream the whole time.
Festivals and two trucks
We took the truck to the Doggie Carnival Festival in Forsyth Park and the Isle of Hope Art & Music Festival, plus festivals around Atlanta and Jekyll Island. One truck grew into two.
Pooler
We opened our Pooler spot in October 2016, and the family's right there with us. My wife Katherine, our son Zion and my father JR are all part of Chazito's.
